Project overview
A website owner discovered their site had been compromised. Malware warnings, suspicious redirects, and search engine flags were driving visitors away, and every day the infection stayed live, the damage grew. The site needed a full cleanup, not a quick patch, so the infection could be removed completely and prevented from returning.

The Challenge: Cleaning a Hacked Site Without Losing It
Malware rarely sits in one obvious place. Malicious code can hide in theme and plugin files, in the database, and in scheduled tasks that reinstall it after a surface cleanup. Removing only the visible symptoms leaves the backdoor open, and the site gets reinfected within days. The cleanup had to find every trace while keeping the legitimate content and functionality intact.

Malware Removal & Security Hardening Solution
We scanned the full site to identify every infected file and database entry, then removed the malicious code and closed the entry points that let it in. After the cleanup, we hardened the site with updated software, stronger access controls, and file-integrity monitoring so future tampering is caught early. The work was delivered through our custom web development services, with the site checked again after cleanup to confirm it was clean.

Results: A Clean, Hardened Website
The finished work left the site free of malware, with warnings cleared and visitors able to browse safely again. Hardening and monitoring now guard against reinfection, and the owner has a clear maintenance baseline to keep the site secure going forward.
